Hulbert has been offering Elderhostel programs since 1986. Elderhostel, which started at the University of New Hampshire in 1975, is an educational adventure for older adults looking for something different. The Elderhostel philosophy, that life's later years should be a time for new beginnings, opportunities, experiences and challenges, is a viewpoint embraced by the Hulbert Outdoor Center.

Elderhostel

Elderhostel encourages individuals to expand their horizons in the company of others who are interested in the same subjects. The Hulbert Outdoor Center sponsors a wide variety of Elderhostel Programs, from canoe to hiking trips, to nature photography weeks and seminars about New England history.

Some of our courses are offered at a local inn. In the last few years, Hulbert has added Intergenerational Canoe Trips (see Time Magazine article, Oct. 2003), and a Women's Hiking and Canoeing Week.  More recently, Hulbert has offered very successful Service Elderhostels at the Shaker Museum in Enfield, NH. and at our Lake Fairlee Camp site in Thetford VT. Join us for an adventure in learning!
