Aloha Hive Campers ride in grasshopper vehicle
Hivers pile into the beloved "Grasshopper" for an outing in 1955.
Each week we’ll post a great photo, either of a program in session, or perhaps a wonderful vintage Vermont summer camp image that shows that around Lakes Fairlee and Morey, the more things change, the more they stay the same! Let us know if you have a favorite place or activity you’d like to see turn up in a photo.

  1. I was taking to Plunkett about trees at Hive, and I remember there being huge trees lining the drive my first year at camp… and I remember them being cut down too. If you run across at pre – 1985 photo of those trees, I would love to see it!

  2. I think that’s my mom, Prentiss Johnson (now Shillingford) all the way on the left! Love finding camp pictures of her.

    1. It would make sense that your mom might be in that photo Amelia! How fun – thanks for taking a peek.

  3. Aloha Wendy, I have such a picture from 1977, I´ll submit it to Aloha.
Can´t wait to go up to Lake Fairlee in 3 weeks !!!
