A Failed Success: by Lanakila Alumnus Sam Masters
Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 pm
North Face Boston, 326 Newbury Street

5 days. 76 miles run. 164 miles biked. On Wednesday, December 6th in Boston, former Lanakila camper and counselor Sam Masters L98-03,*10-14 will recount the story of his first attempt at stepping into the world of ultrarunning. He tells his tale through a Success Counseling lens, sharing how to measure success even when it looks like failure and how to keep pushing yourself to move forward in the face of what looks like defeat. Sam’s journey retraced his favorite Lanakila trips—from Squam Lake to Maine, through the Sandwich Range, Pemi, Franconia, up and over the Presidentials, then circumnavigating the Whites by bike! As he tells it, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. From severe dehydration to weight management to injury prevention, you will hear it all and how Sam drew on his Success Counseling training and Lanakila experience to turn failure into success.

This is a free North Face event with beverage tastings, snacks, raffle and swag!
