Mik joined the Ohana team in March 2025. Though they were never a camper, Mik started working at camps as soon as they could at 16 in their hometown of Niantic, CT. Since then, they have worked at Parks & Rec and YMCA camps across the country anywhere from Junior Counselor to Assistant Director.
With a deep passion for youth development, community building, and event planning, Mik brings over a decade of hands-on experience to their role at Ohana. Whether they’re facilitating staff trainings, crafting creative programming, coordinating camp-wide events, or jumping into a spontaneous game of Knee Tag, Mik leads with empathy, energy, and a strong belief in the power and magic of camp to change lives. Their approach to camp leadership is rooted in fostering inclusive, affirming spaces where all campers and staff feel seen, heard, and celebrated.
Outside of the summer season, Mik is an advocate for equity in outdoor education and regularly collaborates with peers in the field to reimagine what camp can look like for future generations. When not at camp, you can find them walking local trails, working on their latest arts & crafts project, strumming their guitar, or lounging in their hammock.
