“Very few institutions benefit children the way the Alohas do. As parents, we look long and hard for them—those rare places where values are at the forefront. When we find them, we should do everything we can to support them.”
—Richard Reinhold, current Aloha/former Hive parent
In 2017, 1,008 members of the Aloha community joined Richard Reinhold in pledging their support of The Aloha Foundation’s mission with a gift to the Aloha Annual Fund. It was a record-breaking year—donations totaled $623,000, a 33% increase over 2016. This generous result translated into our ability to offer financial assistance or “camperships” to 111 children at Aloha, Aloha Hive, and Lanakila in summer 2017.
The Aloha Annual Fund is a critical component of The Aloha Foundation’s strength and vitality. Comprised of gifts from parents, alumni, and friends, the annual fund supports the entirety of our mission. It allows us to offer exceptional, nationally-accredited programs; maintain our industry-leading 2-to-1 camper/counselor ratio with the highest caliber staff; steward our beautiful Vermont campuses; and strengthen the accessibility of our community by providing camperships to families whose children would otherwise not be able to experience the Alohas. Simply put, the Aloha Annual Fund is a crucial resource, fundamental to who we are—and who we will become—as an organization.
