The Arrival of Summer

By Eric Arnold

Dear Aloha Community,

Throughout my career in camps and schools, I have been fortunate to work with organizations that have inspiring missions, great people, and a real commitment to growth and improvement. I’m grateful to find myself in such a place once again. The welcome I have received at the Aloha Foundation has been wonderful, and Vanessa has been incredibly generous and supportive as I work to absorb both the details and the bigger-picture plans.

In the coming months, I’m genuinely looking forward to welcoming hundreds of dedicated staff members and thousands of campers. I look forward to meals with families, and songs in the dining hall. With the docks going in now, I can already imagine the joy of campers swimming and sailboats gliding across the lakes. It is clear to me that there are countless special things that make Aloha’s programs so memorable, and I feel lucky to be a part of them this summer.

My role here will be a brief one in the long arc of the Aloha Foundation, but I am committed to helping sustain Aloha’s focus on safety, adventure, community, and learning, while identifying thoughtful ways we can continue to grow and improve.

I look forward to meeting many of you and to seeing more smiling faces as spring turns to summer. In the meantime, I’ll keep watching the loons and mergansers arrive, hearing the peepers, and working with the dedicated Aloha staff and board as we launch the busy months of 2026.

Warmly,

Eric Arnold
