Travel Assistance
Local Airports & Bus Stations
The Aloha Foundation provides chaperones to assist campers with travel to/from local airports and bus stations. Please contact Karen Danforth before booking flights or purchasing bus tickets. All independent travel needs to be coordinated well in advance so we can ensure we have enough staff to escort all campers. Clubbers and Bridgers arriving on June 23 may be met at these locations only: Lebanon Dartmouth Coach bus station, Amtrak train station, or Lebanon Airport.
Dartmouth Coach Bus – Lebanon, NH: The Dartmouth Coach is a local bus company that provides multiple buses each day between Lebanon, NH and Boston’s South Station and Logan Airport. There is also a bus service between NYC and Lebanon, NH. Age restrictions do apply – check out the Dartmouth Coach website and contact Karen Danforth with any questions. The Coach offers comfortable seating, wifi, a bathroom, and movies onboard. Luggage is allowed on the Coach but campers must be able to carry their luggage without assistance. Our staff will meet campers in Lebanon (or drive them to Lebanon and wait with them until the bus departs at the end of their session). Interested in traveling with your camper? Take the Coach the day before opening Day and spend the night in a local hotel. We’ll come down to meet you and your camper and bring them up to camp on Opening Day, while you hop back on the bus for home. Our fee for Dartmouth Coach travel assistance is $30.
Lebanon, NH Airport: Cape Air offers flights from/to Lebanon, NH and Logan Airport in Boston, MA or Westchester County Airport in NY. The planes are small so luggage is limited – call the airline for more information. Our staff will meet campers at the Lebanon Airport (or drive them there and assist with check-in). Our fee for Lebanon Airport travel assistance is $30.
Manchester, NH Airport: Campers may book flights with any airline arriving or departing Manchester Airport between 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Our staff will meet campers or assist them with check-in. Campers will be driven to/from camp in our camp vans by camp drivers. Our preference is for campers to ship luggage that is too big to be a carry-on – please contact us if you need to request an exception. Our fee for Manchester Airport travel assistance is $80.
Burlington, VT Airport: We may offer Burlington Airport as an option this year if you are unable to find a flight to/from Manchester. We did have a few camper flights canceled in 2022 at Burlington and since the airport is so small, there were no other options available on the same day. Contact Karen Danforth if you would like to explore Burlington as an option. If we do offer Burlington as an option, flights should arrive or depart Burlington between 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Our staff will meet campers or assist them with check-in. Campers will be driven to/from camp in our camp vans by camp drivers. Our preference is for campers to ship luggage that is too big to be a carry-on – please contact us if you need to request an exception. Our fee for Burlington Airport travel assistance is $80.
Logan Airport – Boston, MA: International campers may book flights arriving or departing Logan Airport Terminal E. This service may also be available to campers on domestic flights. Logan is a larger airport and we have a limited number of chaperones available so we cannot necessarily accommodate all requests. Campers may be driven to/from camp in our camp vans by camp drivers. Other times, campers will ride the Dartmouth Coach bus with our airport chaperones. Except for our international campers, our preference is for campers to ship luggage that is too big to be a carry-on – please contact us if you need to request an exception. Our fee for Logan Airport travel assistance is $185.
Amtrak – White River Junction, VT: Older campers may take the Amtrak train to/from the White River Junction station. Our staff will meet campers or assist them with check-in. Interested in traveling with your camper? Take the train to VT the day before opening Day and spend the night in a local hotel. We’ll come down to meet you and your camper and bring them up to camp on Opening Day, while you hop back on the train for home. Our fee for Amtrak travel assistance is $30.
