David teaches courses for undergraduates, MBA students, and mid-career professionals on social enterprise and nonprofit management at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. He also serves as the advisor for 100+ MBA students who make social impact the focus of their MBA program. Prior to joining the Boston University Faculty in 2011, David worked for 20 years in nonprofit management positions in the fields of education, community development, community service, and child welfare. He served as a chief financial officer, secured funding from national foundations and federal agencies, and coached and mentored aspiring leaders. David has also served on several nonprofit boards and has consulted widely on financial management for nonprofit leaders. He graduated from Yale University with a major in American Studies and earned his master’s degree in Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management. David is an avid Boston Red Sox fan and tennis player.

David first engaged with the Aloha Foundation as a family camper in 2008 with his wife, Suki, and his sons, Jonathan and Daniel, who were then ages six and four. The entire family has attended family camp every summer since then as well as several Hulbert New Year’s family camps and Daniel is a Lanakila camper.
