Welcome Penny Johnson

By Jenn Merritt

Dear Aloha Friends,

I’m thrilled to announce that Penny Johnson has joined our team as the Aloha Foundation’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Penny is an accomplished executive with more than 35 years of diverse financial experience. Her vast expertise and strategic leadership will be a tremendous asset to the Foundation. Penny most recently managed a staff of eight accounting professionals as the Director of Accounting at the Howard Center in Burlington, Vermont, and built a department that managed audits, insurance, treasury functions, and monthly accounting. Penny streamlined accounting and controllership practices across the agency, strengthened the planning and execution of the annual audit, instituted standardized procedures, and improved the bi-weekly payroll process for 1,300 employees.

Prior to her time at the Howard Center, Penny was the Senior Vice President of Finance at the Home Service Store in Rutland and before that spent 21 years in finance and accounting at the Vermont Country Store in Manchester, Vermont.

Outside of work, Penny says that her sidekick is Bailey, a 5 lb. six-month-old Chorkie (Chihauhau/Yorkie). She loves playing pickleball and is interested in learning photography. “I am so excited to join the Aloha community and support the wonderful programs that are offered to children and families.”

Penny can’t wait to get started and we are very pleased to welcome her aboard!

Welcome Penny!
