Certification Week

Certification Week takes place in early June and offers the opportunity for staff to receive training specific to their role at camp. Not all staff attend Certification Week. Your employment offer lists the certifications needed for your role at camp and your start date was scheduled to ensure you’d be on campus for any necessary trainings. You’ll receive more information closer to the start of camp but if you have any questions about Cert Week, please email Tori Sumner, our Cert Week Coordinator.

Transportation

Staff are responsible for coordinating and paying for their own transportation. The Aloha Foundation can meet staff at local bus stations. We ask that everyone complete the Staff Travel Plans section of your onboarding.

Dartmouth Coach Bus

The Dartmouth Coach bus offers comfortable seating, wifi, a bathroom, and movies onboard. Luggage is allowed on the Coach. Our staff will meet you at the Lebanon bus stop.

  • BOSTON SERVICE: The Coach provides multiple buses each day to/from Logan Airport. Tickets are transferrable so if your flight comes in late, you can hop on the next bus.
  • NYC SERVICE: The Coach offers limited options from NYC. NYC bus tickets are not transferrable and must be booked in advance.

Greyhound Bus

Greyhound offers bus transportation from many U.S. cities to White River Junction, VT. Check the schedule online to see what is available from your location.

Luggage Shipping

Looking to ship your luggage to or from camp? We have partnered with Ship Camps to provide shipping for our campers and staff. We strongly recommend that you place orders with Ship Camps by April 15. For assistance, please contact Ship Camps directly at (855) 540-2267 or customersupport@shipcamps.com.

Packing & Uniforms

The staff uniforms and packing lists are different at each of our summer camps. See below for all the details!

Aloha, Hive, & Lanakila Uniform Purchases

From the Maine Camp Outfitters website, click on Camp Store Login to view your camp’s store. Your password is the name of your camp (Aloha, Hive, or Lanakila). While many items on our packing lists can be purchased anywhere, Maine Camp Outfitters is the only place to buy logo items.

Aloha, Hive, & Lanakila Trunk Purchases

Counselors at Aloha, Hive, and Lanakila will need a camp trunk to store your personal belongings in your tent or cabin. We recommend a hard-sided trunk. While trunks may be purchased anywhere, if you purchase your camp trunk from Everything Summer Camp you will receive a discount: Aloha TrunksHive Trunks, or Lanakila Trunks.

Horizons Packing List

Counselors at Horizons do not need to purchase uniforms or trunks. New counselors receive two T-shirts during Pre-Camp and returning counselors receive one each year. Additional shirts may be purchased at camp.

Please come to camp prepared to be outside all day, regardless of the weather. Closed-toed shoes (sneakers or hiking boots) are required on campus. Additional suggested items:

  • Additional layers as needed (athletic shorts or pants, extra warm layers, rain jacket)
  • Crocs or flip-flops (for use at waterfront only)
  • Sunglasses
  • Sun hat (Horizons hat available for purchase
  • Sunscreen/bug spray (available at camp, but some choose to bring their own)
  • Water bottle
  • **Electronics are not used during the camp day. If you choose to bring a phone or laptop to camp, it should be stored in our communal, non-secure space.
